Course Duration and Frequency

  • Duration: One year (depending on the class level and student's progression).
  • Frequency: Weekends (Saturday or Sunday).
  • Timings : 10.30 am to 1.30 pm
  • Target Group: Students from Class 6th to Class 12th who wish to prepare for the IAS exam from an early stage.
  • Course fee: 35000 (Per year)



 

The course is designed in a way that it adapts to the age and class level of the students, while still focusing on important areas needed for future UPSC preparation.

Here’s an outline of the course structure:

1. Introduction to Civil Services (for All Levels)

  • What is the UPSC? Basic understanding of the UPSC Civil Services Examination and its importance.
  • Career as an IAS Officer: A brief about the role of civil services in India and the significance of the IAS, IPS, IFS, etc.
  • Structure of UPSC Exams: Understanding the different stages of the UPSC CSE (Prelims, Mains, and Interview).

2. Foundation Subjects

The subjects covered will gradually increase in complexity as the students’ progress through the levels (6th to 12th). The focus is on developing a strong foundation in the core areas of General Studies.

 

For Classes 6th to 12th (Basic Introduction):

  • General Awareness:
    • Basic General Knowledge about India and the world (geography, history, and current affairs).
    • Focus on Indian culture, geography, and basic civics.
  • Science and Technology:
  • Advancements in science and technology with a focus on their applications in governance.
  • Basics of physics, chemistry, biology, and environmental studies.
  • Basic arithmetic, number systems, shapes, patterns, etc.
  • Logical reasoning and problem-solving.
  • Simple concepts of governance, democracy, and India’s Constitution.
  • Mathematics and Reasoning:
  • Polity and Constitution:

3. CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) Preparation

  • For Classes 6th to 8th: Focus on building logical reasoning and mathematical abilities.
    • Topics include:
      • Basic arithmetic and algebra.
      • Logical reasoning, puzzle solving, and data interpretation.
      • English comprehension.

4. Personality Development and Ethics

  • For All Levels: Building leadership skills, communication, and public speaking.
  • Ethics: Introduction to the concept of ethical behavior, integrity, and moral values.
  • Group Discussions: Develop debating and communication skills through mock group discussions on current issues.

5. Writing and Answer Writing Skills

  • Essay Writing: Students will practice writing essays on various topics related to national and international issues.
  • Answer Writing: Focus on structured writing skills to answer conceptual questions, which is essential for the Mains examination.
  • Creativity and Presentation: Developing presentation skills and practicing creative writing on current topics.

6. Current Affairs

  • Regular Updates: Discuss national and international news, especially regarding politics, economy, social issues, and government schemes.
  • For Classes 6th to 12th: Emphasis on how current events influence policy decisions and governance.

7. Regular Assessments and Mock Tests

  • Classroom Quizzes: Regular tests and quizzes to ensure learning and track progress.
  • Monthly Mock Tests: Simulating real exam conditions with periodic practice for Prelims.
  • Subject-Specific Tests: Assessment based on subjects like History, Geography, Polity, and Economics.
